I want to start off by saying I am a very handy guy so I wouldn’t say this is for everyone. I had a lot of concern about swapping out these two pump heads on my own due to the fitment and the assembly done by the original pool builder. There was zero room for splicing in the correct PVC without some major major tear up. I found another tool that allowed me to core out the 2.5″ pvc and re-attach new fitting. Surprisingly this all worked perfectly. The pump heads were 100% the same except brand new as opposed to my 20+ year old ones. I am not sure what a pool guy if he was even capable of doing the job would have charged but I was 500 into these new heads with all parts included and about a half a day in swapping everything. They are working perfectly; no more leaks pool is running like brand new again. Highly recommend even if you have to pay someone else to do the work, I can’t even guess how much the local pool placed would have charged for these heads. I am attaching the link for the PVC reamer I bought, not sure it will last as a professional tool but for what I needed this was the ticket.
