Original Pentair SuperFlo and Superflo VS SuperMax Pump Seal Kit 356197 Includes

Original Pentair SuperFlo and Superflo VS SuperMax Pump Seal Kit 356197 Installation:

First you should remove the old shaft sealRemoving the old shaft seal:

1. Refer to the pump Installation and User’s Guide and complete all prerequisite disassembly instructions.
2. Hold the motor shaft in place at the rear of the motor and unscrew the impeller counter-clockwise. Remove it from the motor shaft.
3. Using a pair of pliers, remove the old Spring Seal from the impeller shaft.Note: When removing the Spring Seal the inner sleeve of the seal may stick to the shaft. Ensure it is removed before installing the new Spring Seal.
4. Using a 9/16-inch wrench, remove the four bolts securing the seal plate to the motor. Set the motor aside.
5. Place the Seal Plate face down on a flat surface and tap out the old Ceramic Seal with a flat-blade screwdriver (Figure A).

Then  new shaft seal should be installed.Installing the new shaft seal:

1. Flip the seal plate over and thoroughly clean the seal cavity.
2. Using the silicone lubricant provided in this kit, lightly lubricate the outside rubber surface of the new Ceramic Seal.
3. With the White Face upwards, firmly press the new Ceramic Seal into the seal plate cavity with your thumbs (Figure B).
4. Using a clean cloth, thoroughly clean the seal face.
5. Ensure the side marked ‘UP’ is on top and install the seal plate onto the motor. Tighten the four bolts to 75-80 in-lbs. (86-92 kg/ cm).
6. With the Flat Face towards the impeller, slide the new Spring Seal onto the impeller shaft (Figure C).
7. Using a clean cloth, thoroughly clean the seal face.
8. Hold the motor shaft in place at the rear of the motor and hand tighten the impeller clockwise onto the motor shaft.
9. Refer to the pump Installation and User’s Guide and complete all remaining reassembly instructions.
