My two-year-old Hayward H-series heater suddenly had an “SF” error code indicating that the thermistor had failed. Hayward’s website states that the FDXLTER1930 is the correct replacement but I later learned that all heaters built after December 2020 now use this FDXLTER1931 thermistor instead. I had ordered from A-Z Pool Shop before so I had no concerns about ordering again and was not disappointed. They not only had the best retail price on the internet, they shipped the part the same day and I received it a couple of days later. It is a genuine Hayward part in factory packaging, easy to install, and instantly resolved the “SF” error on my heater. Product note: the old FDXLTER1930 and new FDXLTER1931 are NOT compatible as they have different diameters. I have learned, however, Hayward is now selling the FDXLTER1930 for older heaters but it’s actually an FDXLTER1931 thermistor with a brass adapter fitting also in the bag. Check your existing thermistor before buying. If it’s all silver and has a hex nut head, it’s a 1930 for older heaters only. If you have one that is black and has a wing nut head, it’s a 1931 for newer heaters.
